John Coffey is NOT Jesus Christ by P. Michael Amedeoo

My idea of demonology is that Satan does not rule hell. Hell is a place of eternal separation from God, and all beings which have defyed God and separated themselves from God had gone to dwell in hell. Satan does command the demons, though Satan, and all demons for that matter, are just as tormented and pained as any human in hell, for they are all equally separated from God, and thus separated from goodness, love, forgiveness, et cetera. This is why Legion was begging Christ not to send them back into the abyss (hell) in Luke 8:31, as it is a place of eternal pain due to being separated from God. I really disagree with the notion that John Coffey is Jesus Christ, as Stephen King intended, as Jesus Christ had died as redemption for all mankind, allowing all to gain eternal life. I suppose both died due to the cruelty of the world, though in a entirely different contexts. Coffey's death was entirely self-serving, while Christ's death was a necessity to redeem humanity. While Coffey did heak a scarce number of people, he also killed Percy with a brain tumor. John Coffey did "save" others in a very literal sense of alleviating illness, but never had any profoundly metaphysical or esoteric identity. This is reflective of Stephen King's ignorance of Christianity, and religion in general, which is rather evident throughout his works. He's not even messianic, and arbits nothing beyond evoking sadness from others aware of his innocence. Furthermore, Coffey was merely falsely accused of rape, while Christ was accused of blasphemy and magic. Both were inaccurate, but in entirely different contexts. Christ was performing miracles and providing evidence to substantiate his position as the Christ and God, being subsequently charged for this due to theological misunderstanding by the Zealots and Pharisees, while Coffey was innocent of everything except for murdering Percy. Referring to John Coffey as Jesus Christ is itself blasphemous.
